High quality light panel
The C2 series replaces LG’s former popular reference, the C1. The manufacturer has revised the design of its flagship product, designing a slimmer TV with legs that take up less space after being placed on a piece of furniture. It is above all lighter, as the C2 model features a composite fiber frame that cuts the TV’s weight in half. In fact, the TV has a clean look and excellent finishes with thinner bezels.
The display has also been improved and uses OLED EVO technology to provide more brightness. According to the brand, the panel is 20% brighter than the old generation. Obviously, the image quality is excellent: we are entitled to infinite contrasts, deep blacks and bright colors and excellent brightness.
For movie and game lovers
This latest reference is accompanied by the Alpha 9 Gen 5 processor. The difference from the previous processor is that it adds more efficient upscaling technology thanks to more powerful algorithms, thus moving from 1080p content to 4K images more efficiently. Otherwise, the LG C2 is compatible with HDR, HDR10, Dolby Vision IQ. As for the audio part, it has also been improved, where we switch from a virtual mix in 5.1 to 7.1.2 in the C1 range for a wider sound.
The C2 is also handy for video games. It includes 4 HDMI 2.1 inputs enabling 4K@120fps display for next generation consoles (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X). ALLM and VRR modes will also be there for better image fluidity. We can even enjoy a response time of just 1ms and G-Sync and AMD FreeSync certifications. The screen also refreshes at 100 Hz, which will ensure good fluidity of the image. The perfect combo, so you’ll be ready to play in the best conditions. Finally, the TV runs on webOS, an improved interface that allows access to advanced applications such as Netflix, Disney+ or Prime Video. The 55C2 also includes Google Assistant and Alexa voice assistants that can be accessed via the remote control buttons.
