A seal rescued by Sea Shepherd in Etretat has died
Sea Shepherd announced on Twitter that the seal, which had been stranded on Etretat beach earlier in the week and was being cared for at the Chene rescue center in Allouville-Bellefosse, finally died of digestive bleeding on Wednesday. The Ocean Defense Association mobilized Tuesday to find an animal care center.
The seal, which was spotted by locals on Sunday, finally washed up on Etretat beach on Monday. Local residents then contacted several reception centers. in vain, before applying to the Sea Shepherd association. The last one arriving on the night between Monday and Tuesday, expressed his concern that he could not find any specialized place that agreed to take care of animals on social networks.
Agents from the Office of Biodiversity finally went to the site on Tuesday afternoon. and decided to place the animal in a rescue center Le Chene in Allouville-Bellefosse. The seal died here on Wednesday from his injuries.
