A design that always works
For the 2022 iPad Air M1 version, Apple did not opt for a design change. Thus, we will have a device that physically resembles the previous version of the Apple tablet, with a borderless appearance, rounded corners or a recycled aluminum frame. The dimensions here will be similar to those of the iPad Air 2020 and iPad Pro 11, at 24.76 x 17.85 cm, but slightly thicker overall (5.9 mm vs. 6, for a lighter weight (461 g vs. 1 mm) will be. for Wi-Fi versions). In short, it finishes flawlessly as always.

The power of the M1 chip
Where the 2022 iPad Air M1 scores the most points is clearly in terms of performance, which is based on the ARM architecture and launched with the M1 chip, engraved at 5 mm and already integrated before the brand’s MacBook Air and Pro models. as well as the newer iPad Pro and iMac. Specifically, the iPad Air M1 is as powerful as the entry-level iPad Pro. Demanding apps and games will run without slowing down, while multi-stream video editing and fluid photo editing will be possible through iMovie. The M1 chip is said to be 60% faster in terms of CPU performance and twice as efficient in terms of graphics performance.
Finally, on the autonomy side, Apple advertises up to 10 hours of autonomy for surfing the Internet or watching videos on Wi-Fi. During our test, where we used the tablet intensively every day, the iPad Air lasted two days before going through the charging case. It will be a bit slow on the charging side as it takes 1 hour 45 minutes to reach 100% battery with the 20W adapter. But there is no fast charging here.
