In the catalog of LG TVs, the A2 series represents the entry level of Oled for the most limited budgets. If it makes some concessions compared to other higher-end models, we find the brand’s know-how and excellent image quality. High quality in a smaller format

LG’s 48A2 model maintains the same philosophy as its predecessor, which is an affordable OLED TV. We always appreciate the manufacturing quality with the ultra-thin and elegant design from all sides during the meeting. With a small diagonal of 48 inches (122 centimeters), the TV will fit perfectly into your interior, whether it is hung on a piece of furniture or on the wall. Even with its small size, the panel is a pleasure to look at, especially since it benefits from OLED technology, which offers endless contrasts with deep blacks, bright colors and excellent brightness.

LG is a reference manufacturer in terms of image quality, proof of this is the A2 model. Thanks to its 4K HDR compatibility, this TV delivers picture-perfect picture quality and excellent image sharpness. There’s also compatibility with some of the top video standards, such as HDR10 and Dolby Vision (but not HDR10+) for a cinema-like experience. The main innovation is at the processor level: the A2 series integrates the Alpha 7 Gen 5 (following the 2021 Alpha 7 Intelligent Processor Gen 4). This processor provides very good content scaling and very detailed rendering, especially since it includes artificial intelligence to adapt the image and sound quality to the content being viewed. As for the sound quality, thanks to compatibility with Dolby Atmos, we have the right to get immersive sound.

Best value for money on LG

In order to lower the final price, the Korean manufacturer had to make some concessions, especially in terms of gaming. Indeed, the LG A2s offer a refresh rate limited to 60Hz and no HDMI 2.1 connector to allow 4K@120Hz. Therefore, these are the models to avoid for PS5 or Xbox Series X. Nevertheless, LG TV offers ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) function to reduce the latency as much as possible. The Korean brand even includes a game optimizer to automatically adjust picture settings and improve graphics for a better gaming experience.

Finally, this model uses the latest version of webOS. The interface still offers intuitive and fluid navigation, but has some new features, such as a multi-view menu. Allows you to split the screen in two to see two different programs. It is also possible to create a profile so that your content is suggested based on what you are viewing. Another function allows you to display pictures in standby mode, play music when the TV is in standby mode. We obviously find the applications: Netflix, Prime Video or Disney +. The A2 range is compatible with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and HomeKit, so you can enjoy voice control. Finally, it’s also possible to stream content from your smartphone via Miracast or AirPlay 2.
