OPPO Find N2 Flip: when will the flip smartphone be released in France?

The Chinese brand recently unveiled two new foldable smartphones at its annual OPPO Inno Day event. First, the OPPO Find N2, as the name suggests, is the successor to the OPPO Find N that was released last year. Although it still unfolds like a book, like Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold, this year’s OPPO Find N2 Flip is accompanied by a clamshell model that mimics the very popular Galaxy Z Flip. The good news is that the latter should land in our regions soon.

Of course, the year 2023 will definitely be placed under the sign of foldable smartphones. After timid beginnings, this new type of mobile device is on its way to democratization in the market, with several brands now following in the footsteps of Samsung, the pioneer and great leader in this field. And it’s the folding phone format that’s gaining more ground: of course, flip models are back in version 2.0. This trend, which was restarted by the Korean giant, is not about to die out, several other manufacturers have adopted this compact format, which is cheaper than the folding model that opens like a book, which is more popular. After Huawei, which has already invested in this market with the P50 Pocket, we expect all other major Chinese brands to follow suit and in turn offer an alternative to the popular Samsung Galaxy Z. Flip within the next year. While Xiaomi and vivo have been rumored for the moment, OPPO recently made its first flip smartphone official: the Find N2 Flip.

This new model was revealed during OPPO Inno Day, an annual high-profile event dedicated to the brand’s innovations, held on December 14. It has arrived to accompany the OPPO Find N2, the second generation of the Chinese manufacturer’s foldable smartphone that unfolds like a book. With this cover format, it marks a big first and aims to compete with the giant Samsung. Because if it follows in the footsteps of the Galaxy Z Flip, this OPPO Find N2 Flip can still hold its own and may even become the new star of foldable smartphones…

The exterior display of the OPPO Find N2 Flip hits the mark

First of all, the Find N2 Flip is distinguished by its design. If we find the same compact appearance that creates all the charm of this clamshell format, it is so practical with its ultra-compact dimensions when folded, which allows it to slip easily into the pocket, this model from OPPO takes on a different look. For good reason: the external screen, which is placed in a vertical strip with a diagonal of 1.8 inches on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4, is twice as large here. Placed in “Portrait mode”, even “the largest external display ever seen on a flip smartphone“, as the Chinese brand boasts in its press release, has a diagonal of 3.6 inches. It offers a better experience on this secondary panel, which almost acts as a miniature version of the main screen with the ability to display up to six notifications. and above all, in the selfie to offer a better view of the captured photos, but with the main module of the device.

As reported Frandroid, it consists of a wide-angle sensor and an ultra-wide-angle, the first of which is a 50 Mpx Sony (IMX890) sample. This should allow for some great shots. While we can certainly mention the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ chip and 4300 mAh battery that make it a high-end model, this OPPO Find N2 Flip has another feature that will make it a great competitor to the Galaxy Z Flip4. This is at the level of the hinge: it benefits from the second generation of Flexion Hinge technology, which both promises to resist up to about 400,000 bends and, above all, makes the bend in the middle of the screen almost invisible. Chinese brand statements. This is a small detail that annoys Samsung, but it would be a real asset to take full advantage of this large 6.8-inch internal screen with Full HD + resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. today is Sunday.

A Q1 2023 release in France?

So this OPPO Find N2 Flip has something to tease, but the remaining question is, will we be able to get our hands on it? Remember that the manufacturer chose to limit the sale of its first foldable smartphone OPPO Find N to the Chinese market. But the good news is that this new hooded model is indeed getting an international release, as it says in its press release:

“Following its launch in China today (December 15, ed.), OPPO will officially launch the Find N2 Flip globally, including most European countries, early next year.”

This is of course not confirmed, but everything seems to indicate that it will arrive in France soon, certainly in the first quarter of 2023. SFR News !
